St Mary Magdalene Church is the Church of England Parish Church in the Hatfield Hyde Area of Welwyn Garden City, UK. The Church belongs to the Worldwide Anglican Communion of Churches. It is in the Diocese of St Albans and the Welwyn Hatfield Deanery.
The building dates from 1881 and was originally part of Lord Salisbury’s estate centred around Hatfield House. However as Welwyn Garden City expanded in the 1940’s, ‘50’s, & 60’s so the small hamlet of Hatfield Hyde was incorporated into it. It now serves a large parish numbering over 25000, with new house building underway.
